Q. Do I need a generator to camp in a travel trailer?

A generator is only needed when you are "dry-camping" and don't have access to electrical outlets. All rentals are equipped with onboard battery(s) but batteries alone will drain quickly and become damaged if not recharged regularly. In addition, there are several items on any RV that will not run on the battery and require a generator when dry-camping. (i.e. TV, DVD, Microwave, Power Outlets, A/C). If you will require A/C in a location without power, a generator with a minimum of 3000 watts will be needed. Please let us know in advance if you will be dry-camping and cannot get ahold of a portable generator for any reason. If necessary Get Away RV Rentals can arrange a generator rental for $50/night. Renters are fully responsible for replacing generator if lost, damaged or stolen.

Q. What comes with delivery?

All delivery pricing is round-trip and includes full set-up, leveling, break-down and all propane usage during your stay. Delivery fee ranges from $160-$225, please include your exact delivery location to receive an accurate delivery quote.

Q. Are there any additional costs?

You are responsible for cleaning the inside of the trailer before you check out. Wiping down all countertops, disposing of all trash and sweeping out the unit. Other wise we charge a minimum $75 cleaning fee. If you are at a campsite with no dump station then we charge $35 to dump the trailer when it is returned to us. Any damage caused while the trailer is in your possession is taken out of the security deposit.

Q. How do I pay for my rental?

Get Away RV Rentals requires that all payment be done with a major credit card, check or cash. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

Q. Is insurance required for towing?

You are solely responsible for all damage or loss to yourself, your property, the rental property, and/or others. When picking up a trailer you must provide a current insurance card showing proof of motor vehicle liability insurance covering you and the vehicle you are driving/towing.

Q. What time can I Pick-Up / Return my rental trailer?

Pick-Up times are 10AM–4PM we generally deliver between 2-4PM everyday and all trailers must be returned by 11 AM.

Q. What if I need to cancel my trip?

The upfront deposit of $250.00 applies to your balance and is refundable if your dates are canceled 30 days or more from your reservation dates minus $75.00 as a cancellation Fee. If you cancel 29 days or less your full deposit is forfeited.

Q. How long will the water last when dry-camping?

When dry-camping you have a limited amount of water in your freshwater tank and must conserve as much as possible. There are several factors that will determine how long your water supply will last including the number of people per trailer, duration of showers, sink use, etc. As a general rule when dry-camping, all onboard resources (water, battery power, and propane) should be considered precious and must be conserved in order to keep all onboard systems functioning during your stay.

Q. Is it safe to drink water from the fresh water tank?

No, we do not recommend this. It is difficult to know if the water is potable when filling the tank at a variety of locations. We recommend you use bottled water for drinking and cooking. The water from the onboard tank is fine for washing and bathing.

Q. How do I know what size space to reserve for my rental?

All trailer sizes listed are overall length in order to best determine the size campsite required.

Q. How much does it cost for a campsite?

Campsites vary depending on location and site amenities but generally range between $10 and $150 per night. GARV Rentals is not responsible for any campsite reservations and recommends you make campsite and trailer reservations several months in advance to help ensure availability. You can find links to all local campgrounds and RV parks on our campsites page.
